Man kidnaps, robs Aflac employee, returns victim to work (local6)

Brevard County deputies are searching for a man who fled a Merritt Island
insurance office after a robbery today.

Local 6 News partner Florida Today reports that deputies said a man entered
the Aflac Insurance Office at 2094 N. Courtenay Parkway, near the intersection
with Skyline Boulevard on Merritt Island, and bound an unidentified employee,
forcing the employee from the store at gunpoint.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Deputy Maria Fernez said the robber forced the employee
into the employee’s car and drove to a nearby bank, telling the victim to
withdraw money. The robber drove the employee back to work and then fled in
the vehicle.

Anyone who sees the car, a four-door cream-colored 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante,
is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 321-633-7162 or Crimeline at
800-423-TIPS. The suspect is described as a man in his early 20s with some
facial hair and a thin build. He was wearing a white shirt, black pants and
black baseball hat at the time.
